PhotoViewer (both versions) requires at least High Color (16-bit) to display its images. 256 colors (8-bit) are not enough. Your video card may already support High Color (or True Color, which is even better). If so, you simply need to open the Control Panel, double click on Display, choose the Settings tab, and then change the Colors setting to either High Color or True Color. If your video card only supports 256 colors, then you will need a new and better video card before you can use PhotoViewer.
