If you merged the layers and then saved then closed the image you cannot get the layers back unless you saved as a copy/different file name If you have saved the image then closed it there is no way to get it back with layers. If you have saved but NOT closed the image then you can go back in history or use edit, step backwards. Adobe work on the assumption that people using CS4 are intelligent enough to actually know what they are doing.

there’s no way you can restore layers after you’ve flattened the image that I know of. You could see if there is a way to revert back to an older form, but probably not. I’ve never been able to. They usually expect that people save backup copies or step stages as they go along so if something like this happens they can go back to them. But since you did’t do that, you’re pretty much screwed. Someone else might know of a way, But once it’s saved as a JPEG all the data of layers is gone, and can’t be brought back.

There’s no way to restore the layers after you’ve merged them and closed the file. It sucks that there isn’t, I’ve done the same thing quite a few times. Next time, save it as a photoshop file before merging them then save the merged document as whatever extension you want.

What is your question?

*Sadly, we had to bring back ads too. Hopefully more targeted.
