Philosophers and philosophettes! What do you think of Astleys philosophy of love?
Mr. Astley was very popular in the UK and a very successful artist. Like virtually all such songs of this genre, they promote the supposed Western “ideal” of “romantic” yet totally unrealistic love. Another artist from the past, the late Frank Zappa, said that all such songs were lies and that was why he never wrote one. This one does own (and occasionally listens to) “Together Forever, The Best of Risk Astley” which is a good compilation of his previous works.
