State law requires that land sale proceeds must pay off existing district debt; therefore, only our debt service levy would decrease. The District would then have to lease the land back to operate the school. The resulting increase in our lease levy would exceed the reduction in the debt service levy. The District’s financial consultants recommend against this action.
