People are not paying attention to the lane shifts/merges and signs (especially at Little Turtle Way and Cherry Bottom Road). What can you do?
We’re extremely concerned about this situation. For their own safety, motorists MUST slow down, use caution and pay attention to our signing. But it does take time to adjust. The first month or so after we make major changes is always the hardest. It takes traffic time to settle down and get used to the new patterns. We’ll do everything we can to alert motorists of the changes. We are constantly reviewing the workzone looking for ways to make it easier to travel through. The congestion in the area doesn’t help the matter. With so many vehicles using the corridor, it can be hard to see changes. We’re in the process of adding signage, changing pavement markings, and moving signs to try to make them more visible. Some of this work is already done. We’ve also tried putting orange flags on signs with new lane assignments and posting changeable message boards. We know it is a confusing area and that is why we ask for motorists to slow down, use caution and try to stay alert in the zone. It i
