Parabens are the most frequently used cosmetic preservative. You may see them as methylparaben, propylparaben, etc. The parabens found in many cosmetics are very effective preservatives, but many people have reactions to them, and they are known endocrine disrupters. Certain inconclusive studies have linked parabens with breast cancer.
