Panic attacks in pregnancy, can it harm my child and cause a miscarriage!?

No. Stress and panic attacks will NOT cause a miscarriage. I’ve suffered from panic attacks my entire pregnancy and my baby’s fine. It’s definitely something to mention to your doctor just to see if there’s any help he can suggest but as far as your baby’s health, it will not be effected. You just have to learn what techniques work for you. I see my psychiatrist frequently but I don’t take any prescription meds for the attacks. I have noticed that Immodium is an excellent replacement for my old Xanax (which of course you can’t take while pregnant). Obviously, Immodium is for diarrhea but it also has a calming effect on your entire body. It’s pregnancy category B, so it’s safe to take while pregnant. I try to take a warm bath a couple nights a week. Overall, just invest in yourself. Do what makes YOU happy and try not to worry about other people right now. It will benefit you in the long run.
