Maybe you can get them a fish tank with a ramp leading up to the boxes? Painted turtles eat in the water usually. Also, they are not used to ‘turtle food’ because they have been eating worms, etc… so maybe you can buy some crickets, worms and other things at a pet store.

they are probably a little pissed that you took them away from their home. They can live for a while without food. You can buy a bag of frozen veggies from the grocery store, blend it and see if they will try that.
