Turtles can go without food for a month or so. They are probably trying to get used to their new quarters. If the hunger strike goes on for more than a week, toss in some live earthworms. I have yet to see the turtle that can resist them. Live fish (not goldfish) and soft-bodied insects are good too. When you can’t get live food, try strips of liver dusted in bonemeal. When the turtles become adult, they may show some interest in dark green leafy vegetable.

go to petco and ask someone who can help u there about the panit turtle that u found.(do not feed them meat or else they might die)(take out the grass and dirt and replace it with pebbles) feed it small krill and baby srimp and if it does not work go with fruit and vegtables like any soft fruits and vegtables. P.S. do not feed it hard food.

Chances are if you got them from the wild they are used to eating worms, small fish, grubs, tadpoles etc….the pellets dont even represent food to them so its very unlikely that they will even try it. Go to a local fishing store to buy earth worms and wax worms and simular type grubs, they should eat these no problem, also the petstore should carry small fish such as white clouds that you can put in there water. Also do you have a basking light for them? Painted turtles spend hour upon hour basking in the sun and it is extremely beneficial for there digestion, make sure the basking light has uvb in it to simulate the sun.

i have two male painted turtles, and my turtles don’t eat anything during the winter, at all. but they eat a lot during the summer. i’d suggest keep them in a warm room with a lot of water. buy turtle food that floats and consider putting in two smaller sized fish about the size of their neck and let the fish swim around so the turtles can hunt it down themselves. if they don’t eat, bring them to the vet.
