painful, and do they cause bruising?
HCG injections are not painful if given with the correct-size needle. Hypodermic needles are sold in a variety of lengths and gauges. The gauge, or thickness, of the needle determines whether an injection will be painful. HCG can be administered with very fine/thin needles. (The higher the gauge, the finer/thinner the needle.) Occasionally you might nick a vein, which can result in a small bruise. This is not harmful and will clear up within a few days.
