Over time, will the environment have any destructive effect on the MicroStar?
The MicroStar’s housing is 316 stainless steel which is essentially inert to typical environments. The LED can have dirt, grime and possibly salt build up which can effect the transmission of light. The LED should be rinsed or wiped clean with soap in water should this occur. The LED lens is made of epoxy and over time exposed to UV, the surface of the lens can become dull and chalky. This surface condition will tend to diffuse the light to some extent but the overall effect is negligible. (The photons want out and they’ll get out!
