OK. They needed a way to differentiate between crewmembers; they tried a lot of different names, and they needed a “Commander” and then the rest of us guys, and came up with “Flight Engineer” as just as a generic name. It’s similar to what’s been used on the Mir for a long time. But we think of all of ourselves as Expedition crewmembers, space station crewmembers, and once the flight gets going we’ll all work on anything that happens to come up in the station. We’ll share the good jobs, we’ll share the dirty jobs, and we’ll all work together. Yury, of course, is our Commander, and he’ll make the decisions, but Yury has a very nice personality for working with, and he doesn’t take a very authoritarian approach.
