I have the same problem with my Outlook email. It started Wed night Aug 27, 2008. My error message reads “Unknown Error 0x800406OC”. I made a new profile. Before doing that I backedup my email. Made the new profile and did a send and receive BEFORE I brought back the old email folders. I did receive new messages. I then imported back my old email folders and the email did not work anymore. I am thinking there is a corrupted folder or email causing this. I am going to Microsoft web site to try and trouble shot this. If I find an answer will let you know.
