They’re all great — Bondi and Noosa are iconic beaches, and Coolum and Portsea attract the big surf. But my favourite is Currumbin, because it’s home on the Gold Coast, where the world’s best beaches are. How do you motivate yourself? I try to think of the feeling after having performed well. The pain of racing doesn’t last, but the feeling of having given the race your all is a great one to share with family. For the Surf IronMan Series, I’m going to… enjoy travelling to the best beaches and racing with the best athletes in the world. The Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Surf IronMan Series is on at Currumbin (21 Nov), Bondi (3 Dec), Coolum (19 Dec), Portsea (2 Jan) and Noosa (9 Jan).
