Our regulations require the results as thermotolerant coliforms?

0

We do not specifically test for thermotolerant coliforms which requires testing at 44.5C for 48 hours. Please note, however, that the principle objective of measuring TTC is as an indicator of E. coli as stated in the US CDC manuals. The Australian Drinking Water Guidelines have now replaced TCC with E. coli. If you are using the visual incubator test, then the confirmation of thermotolerant coliforms can only be confirmed when E. coli is present. It is unlikely that other thermotolerant coliforms will be found without E. coli being present.
