In the second half of 2002, we and the Bank of England made some changes to the form BT. This changed the way individual entries in the form BT were used to calculate the MEL (Modified Eligible Liability) figure for the Bank of England and so it is calculated in a slightly different way to the method used by us. The A.1 fee calculated by us on your invoice is correct. Details of how we calculate MELs is in the FSA Handbook, SUP 20, Annex 1, Part 2.
