Independent studies have shown that readers of classified advertising do not read every ad. They skim pages and stop to read those ads that are most noticeable – the ads that stand out over and above the majority. The larger the ad, the more visible it is. The more visible your ad, the greater opportunity there is to sell your vehicle in the shortest period of time at the highest possible price. That is not to say that small ads are not effective. Given other equal factors such as market-appropriate pricing, comparable mileage and condition, small ads have been found to be successful. Small ads work best for customers who feel less urgency to obtain a sale and who understand the risk of the possibility of additional weeks of advertising.
