Other than the core courses, what course work is required for the PhD?
Basically, you must pass three full-year 500-level math course sequences (or nine quarters) in addition to three core courses. This is the easiest requirement to fulfill–anyone who stays here long enough to get a PhD will have easily completed more than enough courses for the degree, just by continuing to register for a course or two every quarter.
