Other than leaderboards, what do you think drives speed ascenders to their goal?
– Personally I just enjoyed the challenge. I guess the leaderboards are really just an extension of that. Having a scientific and mathematical background I saw it as a problem to be solved, and problem solving is something I get a lot of enjoyment from. You also became a chat moderator this year, how did you feel when you were appointed? – I was a little apprehensive at first as it’s quite a lot of responsibility and at times your decisions can come in for a lot of flak from people in the chat. At the same time I was glad I’d be able to give something back to the community. As a moderator, what kind of things are the most difficult to deal with? – It’s difficult to pin down individual things. The hardest stuff to deal with is probably the stuff that the policies leave more open to interpretation. All the mods have their own ideas about this but most of us are pretty consistent.
