ORGO I: can i assume cis-trans isomers can never have sterogenic centers?
Constitutional isomers have a different linear atom arrangement, and this includes iso-compounds. Stereoisomers have the same atomic connectivity, but a different arrangement of atoms in space. Stereoisomers include configurational and meso isomers, so they can be chiral or non-chiral. Enantiomers are non-superimposable mirror images of each other. Diastereomers are non-superimposable, but they are not mirror images. Meso compounds have internal symmetry, you have that correct. Cis-trans isomers can have a stereogenic center; that has nothing to do with configurational isomerism. Hope that helps a bit.
