Optical disks are expensive aren t they?
The type of optical disks used on MIRRA is low cost when compared with MO (Magneto-Optical) and are rewritable. The optical disks used are rewritable thousands of times and so they can be used again and again. This means that fewer of the disks will have to be purchased and as a result save you costs in the long run. In the above example of the typical user if the disks cost about $40 each then the total cost for the year will be $0. In many applications that overwrite disks, for example every month, then the investment could be $0!
