The commission fee for online equity and ETF trades is waived for Merrill Edge self-directed accounts that qualify. Other brokerage fees continue to apply (for example, SEC transaction fees). Account maintenance fees also still apply as do commission charges for trades that are not $0¹ online equity or ETF transactions. If you trade on margin, you will still accrue margin interest based on your debit balance. Brokerage fees associated with, but not limited to, option trading, special stock registration/gifting, account transfer and processing, account maintenance, research request and termination also apply.
