One of my students has reached the maximum number of semesters in which to complete their degree and has requested an extension to the length of their candidature. What do I need to do?
The student’s case will need to be taken to the next Faculty Higher Degree Committee meeting by the Research Administration Officer from the Graduate Research School. As the supervisor, you will need to argue the student’s case for an extension, in writing, and provide this to the Graduate Research School Research Administration Officer prior to the Higher Degree Committee. Faculty Higher Degree Committee dates can be found here.
