A/ In the LMC’s opinion, as this is not money you get to run your practice, you do not need to include it Q/ Regarding the funding allocation, I do not think many GPs will be happy about sharing what has been received from NHS source and prescribing costs. Is it necessary to provide this and does it have to be from the practice accounts or can we request Practitioner Services to provide this information? A/ There is no way round this; you need to put the figure in. As a public body each Practice had to put these details into their publication schemes. The LMC would suggest appending the sentence – “This funds all staff, premises and running costs”, to indicate to the patients that the funding was not purely for GPs only. Q/ Has the Freedom of Information Act Model Publication to be included with the practice leaflet and given out to all new patients or had this to be kept as hard copy and given out only to those who ask for it? A/ No, this has only to be given to those who ask for it.
