One last question. Where does this school get its name “Hayabusa” from, and whats with the bird?
Hatsumi sensei’s view is that a true martial art – and certainly his own budo – is not constrained by nationality, historic period or culture. Its principles are timeless and applicable to all circumstances, conditions, and weapons. Its purpose is to overcome adversity against seemingly unbeatable odds. The literal Japanese translation of “Hayabusa” is Peregrine Falcon.
