After you get a baby through Ehdi, there is typically a three-month waiting period before Edhi issues you documents certifying that this is an abandoned baby and has been placed with you. Recently, Mrs. Edhi has been allowing oversees couples to have a shorter, approximately 2 month wait period for release of paperwork. This shorter wait time is a privilege that is secondary to Mrs. Edhi’s personal satisfaction after the child’s placement.
