The Personal Health Information Registry (PHIR) will contain health reporting information (HRI) which is defined in the AHR Act to include the identity, personal characteristics, genetic information and medical history of donors, persons who have undergone assisted reproductive procedures, and persons conceived by means of those procedures. While this information will be available, upon request, to persons undergoing AHR and persons conceived from such procedures, the donor’s identity may not be disclosed without the donor’s written consent. The content of the HRI to be contained in the PHIR will be specified in regulations developed by Health Canada.
