Once I apply for the single trip permit, what is the turn-around time for receiving it?
Electronically submitted single trip permits are usually issued within 1 to 4 hours. However, during extremely busy periods, processing may take more time. It is also important to note that if information submitted is not accurate or complete, you may be requested to resubmit your application, which will delay issuance. Therefore, MDOT recommends a permit be applied for a minimum of 12 business hours prior to the required movement. Single trip permits issued on a walk-in basis at any of the Region/Transportation Service Centers (TSC) offices are usually issued within an hour.
