Once a chapter 7 or chapter 13 case is completed, are there other requirements before a debtor receives a discharge?
After October 17, 2005, all debtors (with limited exceptions) must complete an instructional course in personal financial management from an approved agency prior to receiving a discharge. In a chapter 13 case, a debtor who owes a domestic support obligation must also certify to the court that all amounts due have been paid.
