On what date was the Gettysburg Address originally delivered?
The link below (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1512410) has the actual address. Lincoln mostly scrawled it on an envelope while riding the train to Gettysburg (to dedicate the National Cemetary). While the other orators spoke for 1-2 hours each, Lincoln’s speech lasted less than 20 minutes and most could not hear it. Fortunately, newsmen were able to transcribe and reprint it, much to relief of history for it is an extraordinary speech. Thanks. Sources: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?
