On the Statement of Transition Service Needs section, do I fill in just the year the student is currently in or all the remaining grades?
The intent of IDEA reauthorization is to complete as much of the information for the remaining years as possible. This might be difficult if, for example, a junior high teacher is unaware of classes at the high school, and as a result, this section may not be complete, but the team should identify what they know to be most accurate. At the high school level is it much easier to complete this section. If for example you know a student will need to take two years of a language and hasn’t decided which language to take, the team can enter Language I and Language II where appropriate. The point is, the team is still planning for graduation and the identified Post School Outcomes.
