The majority of Canadians support this law. According to the latest Gallup poll (November, 2001), 76% of Canadians support the new firearms law. Provincially, support for registration ranges from 53% in Saskatchewan to 90% in Quebec. Much of the opposition is the result of deliberate misinformation released by the gun lobby.
