This is a known problem of TCL/TK8.3.3 with KDE. However, if you are running KDE3.1.1 or above, there is a workaround. Start the KControl Center and then activate under Desktop > Panel > Hiding “Allow other Windows to Cover the Panel” Alternatively, you probably would like to switch to fvwm2 window manager which is probably the best. Or, you can assign ICEM_ONE_WINDOW environment variable to a value of 1 which would switch ICEM CFD gui to one window mode. This works fairly well though not tested extensively. The portions which do not work well with this mode are the solver bc setup (i.e. Output menu in MED and quality check in HEXA). There could be other parts which may not work as well. Still, it works for more than 95% of the buttons.
