On a die roll of one, can artillery choose any enemy unit in the battle as a loss, or does it have to be land troops first?
An artillery roll of one allows the rolling player to choose ANY enemy unit in the battle as an IMMEDIATE loss. An attacking bomber or a defending fighter can be shot down by enemy artillery before they get a chance to fire. Attacking artillery might be able to destroy defending artillery before they get a shot. Defending artillery might get to blast attacking tanks before the tanks can shoot. This is called rolling a lot of ones when you need them (also known as FATE).
