Older people without family support – will the care be there for those who are isolated so that they can stay in there own homes?
The proposal is all about giving support to vulnerable people in their own homes before it gets to the point of needing hospital care. A telephone support helpline is being set up in Sandwell and more money is going into this type of “telecare”. A lot of work has been done on what support people will need at home.
