Ok, whats the catch on the hotel? Will my computer be safe?
A17: No catch. We routinely bring (considerable amounts of) our own equipment. We will also have Staff members and many volunteers located within the Con rooms at all times. As many people will also be bringing their own equipment, we will be enforcing “No badge == No pass to Con rooms” for extra security for those who wish to log on in the Con rooms instead of their hotel room. Obligatory Disclaimer – repeated: Even though we try to limit access to the Con rooms to those with badges only, and we have someone at the door monitoring equipment coming and going, we simply cannot, so we will not, be responsible for every piece of electronics at the Con. A reasonable effort will be made as far as equipment security is concerned, but please note that liability for any equipment brought to the Con is entirely yours. Security devices such as locking cables are highly recommended, especially for portable high-value items such as laptops.
