Ok, so the historys there but what else?
Certainly Grivel holds the historical record for ingenuity and substance. We were the first to produce what are now considered ice axes, none of the other companies from that generation still exist. Grivel, in 1909 produced the first modern crampons, following drawings by the engineer Eckenstein. Laurent Grivel created the first 12 point crampons in 1932 with their legendary forward facing two front points. Another Grivel, Aim, made the first super light crampons in 1939 (450 grams).
