OK, so for the two or three people who may not know, what does Unwritten Law sound like?
You know what? I think good, old-fashioned kind of punk rock. I think the traditional punk-rock element from the Clash, Bad Brains and Bad Religion — except for the Clash, who were not American. We’re a true American punk-rock band. Had a few really strange gigs, I would assume? How many good stories do we have? Well, one time we were in Sydney, Australia, and incited a riot at this rugby field. Wait a minute, “Started a riot’’ that’s gonna sound bad. There was a food fight going on in the back and I said, “Let’s see some bleep’’ and all these kids — about 10,000 of them — just went crazy. We were headlining the festival for the day and the place just went ape. I mean, they ripped up this billion-dollar rugby field. That’s your job, man. Yeah, it was like Green Day at Woodstock: grass was being ripped and thrown everywhere. The stage was completely littered with stuff. The place just went crazy.
