Your monthly menstrual cycle usually does not appear until the ages between 11 and 14.  Sometimes, it does come a little later on (like at 15 or 16) but that is perfectly normal since not everyone is the same.  If you don’t have a period by the age of 16, you should tell your mom so she can ask your doctor if there is any reason for medical concern.

When your friends talk about their monthly cycle you should not be embarrassed to say that you have not started your period yet, after all some of them may wish they hadn’t started theirs yet! Some of the side affects such as bloating and cramping don’t make for such a fun time.

I’m sure if you explain to your friends why you felt like you had to say you had started your period too although you hadn’t, they will understand and not be mad at you, after all, they’re your friends, right?  And sometimes it’s hard to share with your best friends things like this when you think there’s a "rule" about being like everyone else.  Getting secrets like that off of chest can really make life easier!

As far as how many holes you have in your vagina, the answer to that is that you only have one, but you have several other openings in your private area that provide for different bodily functions.  You have a urethal opening that allows you to urinate, a vaginal opening through which you discharge the menses each month (or give birth through once you’re pregnant) and then an anal opening, which is for the discharge of bowel movements.
