The terms do get confusing if you don’t work in the business. “Hardscapes” is the term used for outdoor projects involving solid surface materials such as stone, brick, masonry, timber and paver materials, including outdoor fireplaces and waterfalls. “Softscapes” are those projects involving plants, shrubs, trees, flowers and sod. Landscaping is the term that covers all of the work done in the yard, and is often even used to refer to landscape maintenance. We provide everything up to the maintenance end of the business, which, to date, we have chosen not to venture into.
