OK, cotton works, and feels good, but isn Teflon better?
A. Good question. We use cotton because it actually works great as an electrical insulator without storing a charge like synthetics do. Even Teflon, touted as having a low dielectric constant of between 2.4 to 2.8, can’t compete with cotton, which measures around 1.4 (air is 1.0). Many audiophiles have noticed Teflon imparts a characteristic tonality to the music. Cotton does not color the sound in any way. Remember, your music feels good in cotton!
