Ohau, CraigieBurner and Turoa races will have race and recreational divisions- whats the difference?
The length of course is the main difference in the divisions. At Ohau and Turoa the aim is to have a long course of 1200-1400m of vertical climbing/skiing and a short course of 500-600m vertical. For the CraigieBurner the long course will be around 1500-1600m of vertical climbing/skiing. The “Classic” ‘Burner will climb by foot or skins as well as using the BR and CV tow’s. The long course will be made up of 3 – 5 climbs/descents and the short course 2-3 climbs/descents.
