Oh the dreaded hat policy. Whats the big deal????
The hat (no head gear) policy is not new to Ross Sheppard High School, in fact it is in its 4th year. Although some students don’t like it, the policy has been very successful. Perhaps students are not aware of this fact or how it affects their safety directly. The hat policy allows staff to identify non registered students who enter the school and do not belong. This ensures the safety of students and staff in the school which is my number one priority. In addition, an individual committing a criminal act (theft of gym lockers) is more easily identifiable if they are not hiding under a hat or a hoodie. The hat obscures their identity and enables them to get a way with your property. The hat policy is not about taking away your identity it’s about protecting staff and students of Ross Sheppard High School.
