Often, when I copy and paste URLs into the address bar, Mozilla will show Netscape search results instead of the site I am trying to reach. How can I deactivate this feature?

The location bar search can be turned off. To do that, select, Edit -> Preferences -> Navigator -> Smart Browsing and click on the Advanced Button next to Location Bar autocomplete. In the window that opens, uncheck Show internet search engine. You can find step-by-step instructions in my “Navigator” HOW-TO.
