Office 2000/XP: Can I move or delete an icon off the standard toolbar in Word or Excel?
Yes. You can move or delete any icon on any toolbar in the Office products. There are two ways to do this: – Go to Tools | Customize. This puts you in an “editing mode” and you can drag existing toolbar icons to new locations. You can also drag them away from a toolbar (to the title bar or document area) and when you release the mouse button the icon will be deleted. OR – Press and hold the key and then drag a toolbar icon to a different spot on any toolbar or drag it to the title bar or document area to delete it. NOTE: Go to View | Toolbars | Customize if you wish to reset a toolbar back to its original state.
