The penstock will be a high-pressure steel pipe. Concrete anchor blocks will be constructed at major bends and access manholes will be incorporated into a few of the anchor blocks to provide access for maintenance inspection. Due to the steep gradient of the penstock, it may be necessary to include additional anchors to stabilize the pipe within the trench.
