Of the Maya, Aztec and Inca, which civilization was the most advanced?
In my opinion, the Inca were the most technically advanced civilization prior to the arrival of the Spaniards. If you consider the ancient sites that still baffle us today with their complex engineering and architecture, their knowledge of our solar system was at least as advanced as that of the Mayas, their knowledge of metalurgy was in some cases more advanced than the European cultures of the time (Incas smelted Gold and Platinum centuries before Europeans discovered Platinum). Places like Puma Punku still defy our best attempts at decyfering their culture. One can make a case for the Mayan civilization of the time which in some cases pales in comparison.
