If only! I’ve been telling people for years that A, Chinese quality ranges from fairly decent to downright aweful, and B, what we pay for Chinese goods ain’t really a bargin. Our friends at Wal-Mart aren’t dumb and they don’t exist to bring you ‘Everyday low prices’. They exist to seperate you from your money. Shocking, eh wot? Say it ain’t so, but it is. Wal-Mart and all the other mega-retail outlets sell their chinese ‘stuff’ for about the same price as it would cost if made in America, by americans working in union factories. What? How can this be? This can be because the profit margin for selling you that $18.00 shirt made in China costs any savy retailer about a dollar and a dime. If made in America and considering the quality would be far better would cost Mr. Retailer, $1.25. Granted, they would still sell the little sucker for $18.00, but doing so would cost them fifteen cents per sale…or if they jacked the price up it would cost YOU fifteen cents more.
