Obtain information about rabies clinics?
Rabies clinics are held in the spring and fall of each year. The fee schedule is set by the participating veterinarian. Clinics are open to residents of Orange and surrounding counties. Rabies vaccinations as well as canine and feline distemper vaccinations are available. If you would like your pet to receive a three-year rabies shot, please bring proof of prior vaccination. County dog tags (for Orange residents only) are sold on-site at the spring clinic. Please note that dogs are required to be on leash at all times and cats must be either on harness or in an appropriate pet carrier. If bringing a feral cat, please ensure that he/she is safely contained in a trap or transfer cage. Public notice of the date, time and location of each clinic is posted two weeks in advance in the Orange Review and at least one other newspaper as well as on the local radio station WJMA. Fliers are also posted around town. For additional information, please contact the Orange County Animal Shelter at 540-
