• PDF has an official name of Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) and according to Adobe, “It lets you capture and view robust information — from any application, on any computer system.” If you have a Macintosh computer, you already have a pdf reader (Preview). For Windows-based computers (and Mac users who want the Adobe software), you can download the free version of Adobe Reader 8 here. • eReader is a program used for reading ebooks on a handheld device (PDA). There is a free version available here. • How do I know what category my story falls into? • Vignette: less than 2000 words • Story: between 2000 and 75,000 words • Novel: more than 75,000 words • Epic: more than 400,000 words • Work in Progress: doesn’t matter how many words, it just hasn’t been finished yet.
